Friday 30th April 1909

Dear Mater

Started at Maranui today. This is a photo of the school and its cadet corps. It is most pleasant here on a fine day. Don't expect it will be much in bad weather. It is right down on Lyell (sic) Bay. The children are very well behaved, but you never saw such work. Mr Blake says it's the worst he's had in more than 30 years experience.

Hope you are keeping all right and not thinking of coming home for a few weeks.

The Lyall Bay School Centennial Planning Committee has pleasure in inviting you to celebrate 100 years of primary education at Lyall Bay School.

Our Centennial weekend will be held at Labour Weekend of 2009

The Centennial will give you the opportunity to renew friendships and acquaintances from your time at the school.

We are expecting a very large turnout of past pupils and staff at the Centennial and I know this will be a weekend for you all to enjoy.
